Medak District is located in Telangana State, the first name of the Medak is Metuku Durgam. Medak District contains natural wealth, Green Fields and Paddy Crops that's why it is called Metuku Durgam. In Telangana State Medak District high cultivate paddy crop in history has had this name, later it becames Metuku.

Later Medak district was occupied by Allahuddhin Khiljee king in 1309. Later it was occupied by Kutubshaahis king Nizam and changed the name to Ghulhanabad.
